“Sprezzatura is not effort hidden — it is love worn lightly.”

I am a Milanese tailoring loyalist. I dress men who want a soft shoulder, a trouser that breaks once, and nothing on them that looks like it was decided this morning.

Filosofia

In my own words

The work goes in early, so that by eight in the evening you can forget all of it.

— Luca

I am loyal to Milanese tailoring — not out of nostalgia, but because a soft shoulder and a sleeve set by hand still do something no shortcut has managed. My mornings go to fabric rooms and my afternoons to pleasant arguments with cutters about the depth of a lapel and the width of a trouser at the ankle.

Sprezzatura is not effort hidden. It is love worn lightly. The tenth of a centimetre at the hem, the linen chosen because it creases the right way, the vintage watch that belonged to somebody before you — all of it decided in advance, so that by the time you're on the pavement outside the bar you're thinking about the conversation, not the jacket.

I work with men who are done with buying and want to start owning: fewer pieces, better cloth, a wardrobe that ages into itself. Also with grooms, with men moving to Milan, and with anyone who has a good suit hanging unworn because it has never quite fit. That one is usually forty minutes and a tailor away.

One espresso too many, always. It is a working method.

Prima Prova90 minutes · at the bar, then upstairs

We meet, we drink something, and I read what you already own from photographs on your phone. You leave with a written brief: your proportions, your three colours, the four things to stop buying, and where in this city to find the rest.

Everything comes out of the wardrobe. We keep, we alter, we let go. I leave with an armful for my tailor in Via Palermo and return it hemmed, tapered and pressed, with a photographed rotation of outfits you can actually repeat on a Tuesday.

Your first commissioned jacket or full suit, start to finish. I choose the cloth with you at the merchant, brief the cutter, and stand in the room for every fitting so the thing that arrives is yours and not the house's idea of you.

Styling fees only; cloth, tailoring and garments are billed by the sartoria directly. Travel outside Lombardy quoted case by case. I take a small number of clients each month — I would rather do three things properly than nine quickly.

Tell me what's hanging unworn and where you need to be on Thursday evening. I answer everything myself, usually before the second espresso.
